Hamilton Municipal Court Marriage Records

Marriage records in Ohio are maintained by the Probate Division of the Court of Common Pleas in the county where the marriage license was approved. Municipal courts possess no legal jurisdiction to grant marriage license applications or preserve the associated marriage records and certificates.

Individuals who need to inspect, verify, or duplicate the record of a marriage license issued in the City of Hamilton or the townships of Ross and St. Clair in Butler County will need to contact the Butler County Probate Court. Spouses who require a certified copy of their marriage abstract—often for a legal purpose—can also submit a copy request to the court.

According to the Probate Court's fees schedule, the certified copy of a marriage abstract costs $2. The court also issues plain copies of public marriage records to third parties for a standard rate of 10 cents per page.
